Saint Leo is a private liberal arts university associated with the Roman Catholic Church. The University was initially established in 1889 and is now home to some 2,000 students on their main campus, and over 15,000 students online. The University has traditionally offered associates through master’s degrees. Though SLU began offering their first doctoral program in 2013. The Center for Online Learning was initially established in 1998, making SLU one of the earliest adopters of online higher education. Throughout SLU’s push towards online education (which comprises a large majority of the school’s total learners) they’ve focused on military and continuing education students.
The Online Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems offered by Saint Leo University was created to help students find career opportunities in a variety of interdisciplinary fields. These fields include programming, system analysis and design, network administration, information technology management, web design, technical support, and information technology management. The program of study requires 120 credit hours, a typical number for an undergraduate program of study. SLU is also known for a full bevy of support services for online students.
